How a payment works
Every method follows the same three steps, whether it is a card or a bank redirect.
1. POST /v1/payments → you get a payment id and a redirect_url
2. Send the customer to redirect_url
3. We POST a webhook to you → payment.settled, or payment.failedSettlement is asynchronous. The response to
step 1 tells you the payment started, not that it succeeded. Only the webhook
in step 3 does that. Some methods — Multibanco in particular — can settle
days later, because the customer pays at a cash machine.
